Hawthorne December 9 (Special) Stricken with a heart attack while cutting wood in the hills south of Hawthorne last Wednesday afternoon, 2 Dec., Richard DEERING was rushed by his sons to the hospital in Hawthorne where he died later that night.
Mr. DEERING who had been in apparently good health until stricken on Wednesday was 73 years of age. A native of Muskegon, MI, Mr. DEERING had lived in the west for more than 30 years. He had been a resident of Nevada since 1926, locating first in the Wadsworth, Fernley area where he ingaged in mining for a time, although he was a carpenter by trade.
Coming to Hawthorne in 1930 with his family, Mr. DEERING worked as a carpenter on the construction of the Naval Ammunition Depot. He later engaged in the business of cutting and selling cord wood and during the last was again worked on construction projects at N.A.D.
Several years ago he retired but from time to time would assist his sons in wood cuttin work as he was doing when stricken.
Funeral services were held at the Noone Mortuarty in Hawthorne Saturday afternoon and burial was in the Hawthorne Cemetery.
Mr. DEERING is survived by his wifem Mrs. Maude L. DEERING of Hawthorne, a daughter, Mrs. Mike PETERSON of Hawthorne, two sons; Frank and Arthur J. DEERING also a granddaughter and grandson and one great grandchild; a sister Mrs. Daisy MANTZ of Cedar Springs, MI and a brother E.J. DEERING of Fallon

Ray E. DAUGHERTY, who died in HawthorneWednesday from what authorities said was a self inflicted gunshot wound, was a pit boss pr floor manager at the Frontier Club in Reno but was not a partner in the club.
Mr. DAUGHERTY and his wife arrived in Hawthorne where they formerly resided and early the following morning the mans body was found. Before coming to Reno he had been in business in Hawthorne.

Hawthorne, November 27 (Special) Ray E. DAUGHERTY, former resident of this city and more recently a resident of Reno, was found dead herer Wednesday and officers said he apparently had killed himself.
A .22 caliber revolver was found lying beside his body. He had a bullet wound in his head.
Mr. DAUGHERTY and his wife who had been living in Reno, returned here Tuesday and reopened their home here.
Mrs. DAUGHERTY said she was awakened by a shot shortly after 1 a.m. today. She found her husband dead in the dining room of their home.
DAUGHERTY had been employed as a pit boss at the Frontier Club in Reno.
He was born in Minnesota in 1901 and had been a Nevada resident since 1934. He operated a bar and gaming house here and also was interested in mining.

Last Saturday, George CULICH, 52, who has been in Hawthorne for the past 15 months, died at the county hospital of miners consumption. The deceased was well known in Tonopah and Goldfield where he worked in the mines for many years. The funeral was held Sunday and services were conducted at the cemetery by Miss Edith SMITH of St Philip's on the Desert Church.

A. SANTA CRUZ, a well known miner, died at his mine in Cat Creek last Saturday morning of congestion of the lungs. He had been in poor health for several years. The remains were brought to town and the funeral was largely attended. Deceased was a native of Mexico, aged 50 years.

For some years Owen CRUTCHER has been suffering from a several disorders which finally took him off last Saturday. Mr. CRUTCHER was one of the pioneers of Hawthorne and had the sympathy of all his neighbors during his years of suffering and misfortune. He was well known in this part of the state and his death will be a break in the chain of many an old acquaintance and friendship. The funeral was on Sunday and was largely attended. Mr. CRUTCHER was a native of Missouri and was 48 years old.
Mrs. CRUTCHER takes this occasion to thank her neighbors and friends for their kind sympathy and assistance during the season of sorrow and trial.

Mike CORRAL, aged 30, a native of Mexico, died at the county hospital at three o'clock Monday morning (10 Mar 1930). Death was due to heart trouble. Deceased was brought to the hospital about ten days ago from Mina where he has been working with the section crew. The only known relative is his mother who resides in Mexico. Burial was held in the local cemetery yesterday.

Severa CORDOVA a packer, was found dead Thursday morning in his cabin in Cory Canyon. When found he was in a kneeling posture on the floor with a carving knife in his right hand. On the table beside him was a ham which he was evidently in the act of cutting when the summons came. Heart disease is presumed to be the cause of his death. The remains were brought to town for interment.

Little change in the condition of J.J. CONNELLY, Mineral County auditor and recorder, was reported this afternoon. Mr. CONNELLY who was taken to the local hospital on Monday, has been in poor health for several weeks following an attack of pneumonia and when taken to the hospital on Monday his condition was discribed as critical. The 79 years old county official is Mineral County's senior public official, both in age and years of service.

Hawthorne, NV Jan 18, Special - Lee COLEMAN, pioneer prospector and mining man of Mineral COunty, died at the Mineral Couty Hospital at 2:30 p.m. Monday (15 Jan 1934) after having been admitted for treatment of pneumonia the day before after being confined to his home for the past ten days.
The deeceased was well known throughout this section of the state where he had resided for a number of years an engaged in mining. He was interested in Big Indian and other properties in Cory Canyon and it was recently rumored that he had just completed a deal on one property on which he received a substantial down payment.
He is survived by a daughter Letia CUTHBERTH of Los Angeles and a brother residing someplace in the East. He was sixty years of age.
Burial took place at the Hawthorne Cemetery Tuesday.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon (18 Feb 1937) in Hawthorne for Mrs. Edith CHIATOVICH who died at her home here Monday of last week following an illness of three weeks. Friends from all parts of Mineral county and from several towns in the state gatheres to pay their final respects for the beloved matron, and crowded St. Philip's Chapel beyond capacity. Many were forced to remain outside as the Rev. D.B. NORTHRUP proceeded with the services of the Episcopal Church.
Hymns were sung by a male trio consisting of John PHILLIPS, J.D. BERNREUTER and A.L. BARNES.
From the chapel a large cortege accompanied the remains to the Hawthorne Cemetery where burial took place, with the final rites being conducted by Rev. Mr. NORTHROP.
Pallbearers were Henry BOERLIN, D.M. BUCKINGHAM, Fred F. PARKER, Oscar GERBIG, Walter McKEOUGH and G.A. McINNIS.
