Article Description: Mrs. A. A. Bass Laid To Rest
Article Text:
Mrs. A. A. BASS, aged 57, died at the county hospital Saturday morning from kidmey ailment. She had been at the hospital since June 5, being brought in at that time from the old camp of Mariette where she and her husband had resided for the last 20 years. Her illness reached an advanced stage before aid was summoned and when she was first brought to town, little hope was held for her recovery.
In the early states of the Tonopah boom, Mr. BASS cleaned up a nice piece of money but put it all back into his mining claims in Marietta. He and his wife had been there for a score of years hoping to realize some rewards for their efforts. Little is known of the life history of Mrs. BASS prior to her coming to this section. The only surviving relative is her husband.
Funeral services were held in Mina Sunday morning under the direction of Joe MARSHALL and were attended by a number of Mina and Hawthorne residents. Mrs. A.B. BATTEN read the final rites and a number of hymns were rendered by a choir consisting of Mrs. H. L. WILLIAMSON, Mrs. Bert WALSH, Miss Ruth JOYNER and Miss Irene TENNANT.
