Ferrell, Nevada, is in Pershing County and was laid out about 25 miles NW of
Lovelock in that portion of Old Humboldt County presnetly within the
boudaries of Pershing County, about 7 miles from Vernon. (good to have a map
while reading this-road atlas will work)
It was named for William F. "Bill" Farrell or Jack Farrell, a mine owner. A
post office so designated served the town from july 20, 1907 to SSep 30,
1911 at which time Mazuma became the mail address for its patrons.
Mining claim information can be obtained through several sources. There is a
Nevada Mining Board through the Nevada State Depatment of Library and
Museums. The link is not on the top of my head, but you can reach it

Subject: [NV-GHOSTTOWNS] Farrell, NV-Claim Records
Does anyone have information about how I would go about looking up
claim
information for the Farrell, NV mine camp? One of my female ancestors
spent
some time there, as well as Goldfield, NV in the late 1800's.
(She really
got
around. She also went to the Alaskan gold rush.) Is there a good
history
of
this mine camp written anywhere?
Thanks.
