I know that history needs to be preserved and headstone are just
important as any paperwork, I just wish one person in each town would go out
and
photograph every headstone in their town. Its so important. Once they are
gone
its forever.
When I go on vacation, I stop at every town I go through and ask where
their cemetery is and go and take pictures. Thank goodness I have such a
great husband who is not into genealogy to be patience enough to let me do
this.
I agree completely. My family is from Kentucky, OK and AR mainly. I have
photos of my family's tombstone but for a few. My gg grandfather was killed
in the civil war and his grave is unknown as is his wife's who died in 1861
also. I live in Dayton and take photos of the stones here. The cemetery is a
unique one. Covers from 1857 to now.
