"Life is changed not ended."
The late Anthony Douglas MacDonald of Ottawa, Ont., formerly from
Halifax, Nova Scotia died peacefully on Tuesday, May 28th at Ottawa
Hospital. He was the son of the late Tony MacDonald of Point Tupper,
Cape Breton and Melva MacDonald of Stillwater, NS. Anthony, known as
Doug served in the military and once fought for the Canadian
Heavyweight boxing championship. He later graduated from St FX
university before opening his own company - Michelle/Douglas
Construction, affectionately named after his two children who
respectively reside in Oshawa, Ont. and Antigonish, NS.. He also
leaves behind his sister Judith Gazso of Calgary and his two beloved
grandchildren: Emma and Frances Green also of Oshawa.
Doug received the Sacrament of the Sick before he died from his son.
Fr. Douglas will give praise and glory to God at his father's funeral
mass on Thursday, May 30th at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, 385
Sussex Dr., Ottawa, Ont.
Committal to follow on Friday, May 31st at 2 pm in St Paul's
Cemetery, Sherbrooke, NS, where he will be buried with his parents
and brother Kirk. Donations to Pro-Life organizations or mass cards
offered for the repose of the soul of Doug are welcome.
