Alice R. (Lever) Flynn
RUTHERFORD - Alice R. (nee Lever) Flynn, 96, a long time resident of Rutherford, passed
away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was born in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada,
to Peter and Anastasia (nee Boudreau) in 1917. Mrs. Flynn was a member of the Ladies
Auxiliary VFW Post 227 and the Church of Saint Mary in Rutherford since 1952. She enjoyed
playing Bingo, dancing and having tea with friends and family. Mrs. Flynn especially loved
being a homemaker for her family. Mrs. Flynn is predeceased by her husband Francis X.
Flynn, (1970) and 14 siblings. She will be greatly missed by her children Margaret Flynn,
Elizabeth Flynn-Kinard, John Flynn and his wife Kathleen, her four grandchildren, David,
Nicole, Lauren, Devin, her sister Teasie LeBlanc, and many loving family and friends.
Friends and loved ones will be received at the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln
Ave., Rutherford on Friday, May 30, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturd
ay, May 31, at 10 a.m., from the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home for 11 a.m. Mass of
Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford. In lieu of flowers, a donation
would be appreciated in memory of Mrs. Flynn to the Church of Saint Mary in Rutherford.
