It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear wife, Judith, May 18, 2015
at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Gladys Smith.
She is survived by her husband, David; son, Todd and his wife, Tatianna; brother, Albert
and his wife, Shirley; sister, Ruby and her husband, Michael; brother-in-law, Philip
Douglas and his wife, Debbie; grandchild, Nathasha.
Judith was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Janet.
A special thanks to Dr. Chow, Dr. Genge, Dr. Ritter, the Victoria County Memorial Hospital
Staff, for their amazing generosity and care and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Joanne (White) Campbell
Born In: New Waterford
Born: March 19th, 1961

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Campbell of New Glasgow on
Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Joanne was born in New Waterford on March 19, 1961. She was a longtime resident of Beaton
Avenue. Joanne was the daughter of the late William ‘Willie’ and Stella (MacSween) White
of New Waterford.
Joanne was a kind and compassionate person who loved her family and friends dearly. She
had a special affinity for animals especially her dog, Cuddles. Joanne was known for her
humour and enjoyed telling a good story especially if it involved her family.
Joanne was a skilled seamstress and was known for doing alterations and making formal
gowns for numerous special events. She also enjoyed making various crafts.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband, Brian Campbell; sons, Mitchell and Terry
(Stacey), New Glasgow; brothers, Jimmy (Donna), Reserve Mines, Bill, New Victoria, Gary
(Latisse), Sydney; sisters, Doreen (Allister) Mac Kenzie, New Waterford, Anita (Michelle),
Sydney and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her brother, Terry and a nephew, Ryan
The family is very grateful to the doctors, nurses and support staff for the compassion
and excellent care extended to Joanne during her stay at the Aberdeen Hospital.
In keeping with Joanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation
from 12 (noontime) on Saturday until the time of service at 1 p.m., both in V.J.
McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Fr. Ray Huntley officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Leonard’s Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Dorothy Katherine Allen
Born In: Imperoyal Nova Scotia
Born: February 20th, 1940
Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: May 20th, 2015
It is with great sadness, that the family of Dorothy Katherine Allen annouce her passing
on May 20, 2015 at Northwood Centre after a short illness.
Born on Feb. 24, 1940 in Imperoyal, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Robert Vincent
and Beatrice (Summers) Allen.
Prior to her retirement, Dorothy worked as a laboratory technologist and was head of the
Bacteriology Department at St. Rita Hospital, Sydney, N.S.
Dorothy was a loving aunt and is survived by two nieces, Maribeth (Sandy MacLean) Allen of
Halifax, Kathryn (John) MacPherson of Rothesay, N.B. and nephew, Robert (Carolyn) Allen of
Grand Prairie, Alta.; three great nieces and two great nephews. Also survived by
sister-in-law, Elizabeth Allen of Sydney.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in Halifax at a later date.

James Grady Bonner
Passed in: Lanark County Ontario
Passed on: May 15th, 2015
Sergeant Jim Bonner (Ret) died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Donna in his home
in Lanark County, Ont. on May 15, 2015 at the age of 54.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Donna; children, Leonard Mills and Shallyn Mills and beloved
grandchildren, Darion and Liliana. He is also survived by his mother, Frances Bonner and
sisters, Nancy Bonner, Kathy Bonner and Kelly Albertson.
He was predeceased by his father, James Grady Bonner.
The son of an RCR soldier, Jim was born in London, Ont. and raised on various army bases.
Like many Cape Bretoners, Jim nevertheless called Glace Bay, N.S. home. Jim was a proud
veteran of the Canadian Forces with 23 years of distinguished service in the Air Force. He
was a respected flight engineer with tours overseas in the Sinai and in Somalia. His
career took him to many parts of this great country with postings at CFB Cold Lake, as
well as 403, 424, 427, 440 and 400 Squadrons. His military decorations include MFD Sinai,
UNOSOM, CPSM and CD.
There will be an interment ceremony held at the National Military Cemetery in Ottawa on
Monday, May 25, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. with a wake to follow at the Stittsville Legion, 1481
Stittsville Main St., Ottawa at 1 p.m.

Joan (Leudy) Fisher
Born In: Glace Bay
Born: November 30th, 1941
Passed on: May 19th, 2015
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on Nov. 30, 1941, passed away in the comfort of her own
home, with the company of her two loving daughters on Tuesday May 19, 2015 after a 2 ½
year battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her father Louie Leudy and mother Annie Mae Leudy (nee Smith); brothers,
Phillip, Frank and Gerald and twin infant daughter.
Joan was both a loving mother and father to her two daughters, Debbie and Nancy (Kory),
loving grandmother and grandfather to her two grandchildren, Chantelle and Brandon
(Brian) and loving great-grandmother to Trinity. She was also a loving caregiver to her
furry little man Turbo. Much loved and dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and
