Tranquil/Tranquille is a name more commonly found in the Acadian community,
especially the L'Ardoise and River Bourgeois areas of Richmond County.
Tranquil Morvan and his second wife, Judith MacDonald, moved to Sutton,
Massachusetts. They were enumerated in the 1900 census
1900 United States census, Sutton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts,

immigrated 1897, alien, carder, cotton mill

Could Tranquil and his third wife have returned there? I haven't checked the
subsequent census returns for the states.

Subject: [NS-CB] Tranquil Morvan
A man named Tranquil Morvan, born at Lardoise about 1860, son of Maurice and
Susan (_____) Morvan, married, for his second wife, in Halifax on 24 January
1910, one of my relatives, Elizabeth "Betsey" MacPherson from Pictou County,
but then of Halifax. She was born about 1864. I do not find the happy
couple in the 1911 census, and there seems to be no death record for either
of them in Nova Scotia.
Casting a big net, I do not find them anywhere in Canada in 1911, or
anywhere in the United States in 1910 or thereafter.
The question is, what became of these two?
I doubt they had any children, at their age, "but you never know." Also, I
don't know who Tranquil's first wife was (can find no marriage record), or
whether they had any children.
Is there an alternate name for Tranquil that he might have been using?
Any suggestions appreciated. Tranquil is a new name to me.
George in P.E.I.
