Hi, back to the list after quite a long break, I'm wondering if anyone knows
anything about this chap: Gervase WORSELEY son of John & Anne bap Ordsall,
Notts on 9 Jul 1700 (IGI)?
He seems to have turned up in Eckington, Derbys to marry Hannah RENSHAW
there on 7 Sep 1725. I've found two children baptised in Eckington: Ann on
17 Jan 1726 and Garvas on 30 Nov 1738 (quite a gap but it doesn't seem to be
filled by baps in Ordsall). Eckington scribes had trouble with the name,
writing it WORSLAH and WORSLAM.
Quite interested to find out how these two would have met, or anything else
about them. Hannah was part of the Eckington RENSHAW family who gave me my
married name. In trying to find out how that clan tied up with the others
in different parts of Derbyshire, I've gathered a lot of data, and happy to
share it with anyone else chasing RENSHAWs.
