Before the list closes my family interests are FROGGATT and GOODLIFFE in
My great-great-grandfather William FROGGATT was born in Brewhouse Yard,
Nottingham in 1807. He was employed at Youle's Timber Yard as a young boy
but went on to eventually buy the Yard. His son William was also a timber
merchant as was his brother-in-law William Froggatt CLARK. William (born
1837) married the girl across the road in The Park - Sarah GOODLIFFE. They
moved to Sandiacre, just across the border in Derbyshire, owning a timber
yard there. My grandfather (William born 1869) left home aged 16 for
Australia and New Zealand.
Sarah's father was Arnold GOODLIFFE, born Belton in 1807. He was a
cheesemonger and provision merchant for many years in Bridlesmith Gate,
dying in 1888. Arnold left an intriguing diary "The Story of my Life" which
records his family and mentions many of the events in Nottingham of this
era. Arnold was a devout Baptist, sponsoring several chapels in the area. He
was a city councillor for some years. For details on the GOODLIFFE family

My MARRIOTT's start with Richard MARRIOTT who was born about 1766 in Derbyshire and had one known child, George, who was born about 1805 in the West Indies. A Rebecca MARRIOTT may have been a sister of his.
In 1831 at Mansfield-Woodhouse in Nottingham, George married Rebecca FARNSWORTH. At the time Rebecca was living in Mansfield-Woodhouse and George was living in Hault Hucknall in Derbyshire.
They had six children:
Richard - born 1834 in Chesterfield, Yorkshire
Rebecca - born 1835 in Ashover, Derbyshire
Anne - born 1837 in Ashover, Derbyshire
Richard - born 1838 in Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Jane - born 1841 in Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Rebecca - born 1842 in Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
George married his second wife Catherine "Kate" MILLER in 1846 in Nottinghamshire. They had eleven children, the first, Anne was born 1846 in Idle Wells, Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The rest were all in Sheffield, Yorkshire.
If anyone is related or knows more about these people, I would be interested.
