I see the 1788 baptism of James on Family Search. Did you click on the
batch number and look for
other Bailey or Tagg records in the parish?
I found four children Francis 1782, Nathaniel 1784, Samuel 1786 and
James 1788, but note that the
mother listed for Francis 1782 is not Elizabeth but Mary.

Subject: [NTT] Francis Bailey married to Elizabeth Tagg about 1785?
I am seeking information about a Francis Bailey married to Elizabeth
Tagg who had a son James born in Lowdham in 1788. Does this ring a
bell with anyone on the list? Anyone working on this ancestor?

>From Findmypast I have abstracted the following transcriptions which may or
may not pertain to your Francis BAILEY. No original documents from
Nottinghamshire are shown but if you believe any of these records are of
interest you can contact Nottinghamshire Record Office to obtain photocopies
of them for a relatively small fee.

A yeoman living in a small village at this time would be likely to look for
a wife further afield. The marriage in Beckingham is a *possible* one as
Lowdham and Beckingham were then not too many walking/carriage miles distant
from each other, but they are separated by the River Trent. Check this out
with Google Maps and the AA route planner. In the 17/1800s there were
several ferry points along the way. Newark with its bridge lies roughly in
the middle of the journey and would have been a much used meeting point for
all things agricultural, social, etc and why I have included the
BILEY/BROOMHEAD marriage in the list. But you need corroborative evidence
and original documentation. I have not researched the BROOMHEAD families.
Nottinghamshire Record Office has a fair number of Lowdham/Caythorpe
documents (see National Archives website above and their own

Happy searching! And finding ...
I searched these years ago but with no joy for William Henry Rockett who died 1915 in Sutton with no joy. Apparently he isnt in the churchyard either. He died in Mansfield hospital. All ideas welcome .
