Stephanie... OMG! My hearts breaks to read of your situation. The
pictures that have been posted leave me speechless.
Here in Carteret, the flooding was not as catastrophic, but many homes
were damaged by the tidal surge. My sister has lost the entire contents
of her basement. When she arrived on my doorstep at midnight Monday
night, she was deflated yet grateful that she had made the decision to
evacuate her family and get to my house (1/2 mile inland from her).
Please let me know if there is anything that we can do for you and your
family.
All our best,
Shell

Hello all from a radically changed Monmouth County.
I am sure that you have been watching the news and know what is going on. I
can tell you that what the news is reporting is not even close to what it
is actually like up here.
It's like a war zone...
I am presently sitting in a shelter at Monmouth University. My home was
completely flooded out and I lost everything. All of my genealogy is gone.
I managed to save a few photos, but the really old ones are lost forever. I
have no clothes, furniture or a home to go back to. My entire life was
wiped out in just minutes. The flooding was awful and me and my family were
right in the middle of it. One of these days I'll tell you about it, but I
can't bring myself to remember it all now. It's all I can do to fight back
the tears and type this to you all.
That's all I have for now. Just wanted you to know that....
Stephanie is here for Monmouth and Ocean County.
