I vote to accept these NJGenWeb bylaws, policies, procedures and protocols,
with the following exception(s). I OBJECT TO (I VOTE AGAINST) the following
articles:
>C4. In the case that a CC resigns, or is missing in action (MIA)
for 2
months or longer, the SC may reassign the web site to a new coordinator. The
SC is not bound by a strict 60 day waiting period to consider a coordinator
MIA.
The SC is encouraged to continue attempting communication for 90 days before
placing the county site up for adoption.
This section is unclear. If the SC is not bound by the 60 day waiting period
to consider a CC/TC MIA and reassigns the site to another person, what
happens if the CC/TC reappears before the 60 days are up with a valid
explanation? I agree that if the CC/TC resigns that the SC should not have
to wait the 60 days, but not if the CC/TC is MIA.
>J1. The NJGenWeb SC is elected for a two-year term.
My opinion is that the SC should be elected for a one-year term. This would
allow the body of CC/TC's to "easily" elect a new SC if so desired or to
re-elect the current SC is the majority believe the SC is doing a good job.
>J8. The electioneers will be subscribed to the business list for
the
duration of the election.
Is the "business list" the same as this mailing list, or is their a
different "business list"? A definition of "business list" is needed.
Although referenced in: "G2b. maintain a subscription to the NJGEN mailing
list for discussion of NJGenWeb business." it does not state that the NJGEN
mailing list will be the referenced "business list".
> Section G2c. States that the CC/TC will provide (to the State
Coordinator
or acting SC) a contact telephone # and mailing address.
What is the requirement for the SC/ASC providing contact information to the
CC/TC other than the NJGEN mailing list and the email address found on the
NJGEN website? No where in the responsibilities for the SC/ASC does it
specify contact information being provided to the CC/TC. Please clarify what
the procedure is or will be for contacting a SC/ASC.
(G4) A State Coordinator/ASC is RESPONSIBLE for:
G4a. following the USGenWeb Guidelines for State Coordinators
G4b. maintaining and updating the NJGEN mailing list
G4c. maintaining and updating the NJGenWeb state web site
G4d. keeping basic records on the current status of the NJGenWeb Project
(such as names of coordinators and their email addresses).
G4e. assisting electioneers (as described in the "Election of a State
Coordinator" section) in the election process when appropriate
G4f. assigning adoptable counties to interested volunteers, and assisting
in their transition to NJGenWeb coordinator.
G4g. responding to email sent to the NJGenWeb state web site in a timely
manner.
G4h. informing CCs and TCs of urgent NJGenWeb issues, via the NJGEN mailing
list.
G4i. informing the USGenWeb hierarchy of urgent issues in NJGenWeb, such as
changes due to elections or resignations.
