CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON NJ DURING THE CIVIL WAR
Woodbridge, NJ, August 3, 1998 -- Thanks to a grant from the New
Jersey Historical
Commission, the Robert E. Lee Civil War Round Table is sponsoring a full
day conference
focusing on New Jersey's role in the American Civil War.
Featured speakers include Civil War authors Joseph Bilby, William
Gillette, David Martin
and William Styple and Licensed Gettysburg Battlefield Guide Thomas Prisk.
Presentation
topics include: "Politics in New Jersey", "Recruting and the Draft",
"New
Jersey's
First Brigade", "New Jersey's Generals" and "Phil Kearny".
The conference will be held September 26, 1998 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
at the
Woodbridge Sheraton on Route 1 South in Iselin, NJ. The registration fee
for the
conference is $35 ($25 for students) and includes continental breakfast
and lunch. For
