Hi back, thanks for a prompt reply, I do have access to a pdf converter
via a coral draw program. My husband says this would work. I love doing the
tombstones, but day after day is tedious, would like a break with something
else. Of course my first love is NV but I am open to any where I can help.
I also have lots of NV history books if any of them would help, I could
records names and authors to see if you'd be interested if you want. Can you
tell I am hungry for work?
Hugs and hope you had a very Merry Christmas
Hugs Pat

Hi Arden & Pat,
Yes, we have material that we supply to those wishing to transcribe.
Most of the material is in .pdf format and needs to be transcribed
into text, doc or some other file format to permit the county or
state host to post them on the Internet.
There are some free and some very cheap .pdf converters many use to
convert the .pdf files to .txt files and this does save quite a bit
of work. The one I use costs about $10, perhaps less now. Saves a lot
of typing, but one does have to proof read the results.
We have coordinators for the various areas/states of the country and
they work with the transcribers, answering their questions, assigning
new material when needed, etc.
If you believe you would like to join the group, please let me know
where your interests lie and I'll have the coordinator get in touch
with you and explain further.

How does one get the info to transcribe? Do you tell us what is
needed
that we can get from books? or is it books we have, or just how do we
help?
I've done transcription for Inyo/Mono counties GenWeb, but she
always
supplied what she wanted copied, documents, books, etc. Help
