Dear Listowner,
I don't know if anyone on your list would be interested in the 1900 US
census listing for the Nevada State Orphan Home in Ormsby County, but I
thought I would let you know just in case. This listing was transcribed
and
has been uploaded at my website:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~orphanshome
Those interested should click on the 1st floor, right window of the
Orphans'
Home on the homepage, then click on the state of Nevada, then 1900, then
"Orphanages", to access this list.
If you have webpages yourself, particularly those dealing with Nevada
orphanages (or anything that might help orphan researchrs) I would like
very
much to add a link at my site to your pages.
Many people with ancestral orphans do not know with certainty what
state
(or other locality) in which their ancestor(s) stayed as a child. The
purpose of my website is to aid people with ancestral orphans in
pinpointing
that location. I hope to cover not only the census years (state and
Federal) but between census years via orphanage rosters as well.
Canadian
census listings will also be included at my site; to date we have no
Can.
listings yet, but hope to get that changed in the not too distant
future.
Feel free to contact me anytime with any questions you may have re this
type
of research. This a very new website and comments and suggestions are
welcome also (---- as are orphan lists, census citations for lists, and
transcribers! :)
Thanks very much!
Cindy Kanny
