I am in need of hiring a researcher who is familiar with research in
Yerington.
The subject of my inquiry is Joseph Gormley, born in June 1836, who claims he
was born in Pennsylvania, but was actually born in Ireland. I believe he
died between 1900 and 1915, probably in Silver City Precinct, Lyon County, Nevada
where I found him in the 1870 and the 1900 census, but not in any other
census. He was a millwright. He never married as far as I know. I am interested
in obtaining probate records (testate or intestate), deeds of sale (1900
census says he owns a house free and clear), and a death record for him.
I have contacted the Lyon County Recorder via e-mail and she tells me that
the records I need are available in Yerington, but I must hire a researcher to
get the records I need. I live in Virginia so I have no familiarity with
Nevada or Yerington.
My questions are as follows: Are probate records (i.e., wills,
administrations, and estate files), deeds, and death records all available at Yerington?
Are there indexes to these 3 types of records (death, probate, deeds) available
at Yerington? If anyone out there is available to do this research, what are
your rates, how much deposit do you charge, and when would you be available
to do the work?
Thank you.
