From the Journals of Alf Doten:
February 04, 1867, Virginia City
Nevada "heavy winds, went up Howard street and saw a small one story building that
had blown down, occupied by a miner named Hull. Everything inside, crockery, stove,
chairs, table and bedstead all smashed except a fiddle. Hull in bed and scrambled out best
way he could in shirt tail, cold wind at 3 o'clock in the morning, it was rough on
him, but he wasn't hurt except for a few light bruises and scratches."
September 02, 1885, Austin Nevada "sold my two closets to Jeff Hull the milkman today
for $8 and his old milk bill of $8, $16 in all."
October 19, 1886, Lander County Nevada, "Sent letter to Jeff Hull, Assessor of Lander
County enclosing $2 greenback to pay my tax on old cabin property $1.80."
November 06, 1903, Carson City Nevada, "Sitting in the Arlington this PM, chatting
with Uncle David Hull, I inadvertently got my left shin to near the stove allowing it to
draw a big blister 2 or 3 inches in diameter."
