I am not related but I do research for the Nevada Historical Society here in Reno and the
name Killeen was familiar to me. Here are a few tidbits from the Reno Papers.

DMSJ 1887 Aug 7 p3
Realt estate transactions since 1887 March last year.
Mary Wall to J.W. Killeen, Pollard House property, consideration $6,500.
REG 1888 Oct 16 p3
Mrs. James Killeen and daughter Alice of Pollard House have gone to San Francisco for a
visit.
DNSJ 1889 May 28 page 3. Big fire in Reno Many buildings burned.
One of the properties that burned was the Pollard House, Jas. Killeen.

Killeen attempted to sell the Phoenix but it returned back to him.

for the balance of the month or until he can settle his business.

First National Bank of Reno vs. J.W. Killeen, Alice Kileen and others. Gives location of
the property.

Thomas Leddy received a telegram yesterday announcing the death of James Killeen, formerly
of the Phoenix Hotel of Reno. Mr. Killeen had gone into business at Butte, Montana, he
died Wednesday evening.

Mrs. E.R. Smith received a telegram that her mother, Mrs. J.W. Killeen has died at Butte,
Montana at 9 oclock yesterday morning. No particulars were received.
Sorry this does not give you any of his parents info but gives you a little insight into
his Nevada business connections.
Through
Ancestry.com the Pacific Coast Directory of 1867 has J.W. Killeen in Virginia City
at 192 C Street boarding house proprietor. Also the tax records for May 1866 lists him as
income with tax of $8.75 for 192 South C street.
His son William is in the 1900 census for Butte, Montana.
