www.nevadaculture.org has the following:
1870 Nevada, Belmont, Nye county Page 5.
Vollmer, Edward 37 Merchant from Prussia
M.E wife
Henry son 2 born in Nevada. (abt 1868.)
Next door to this family is Adolph 22, Clerk born in Prussia. Possible relative of
Edward.
Then in the 1900 California Census San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo you have.
Vollmer, Edward Nov 1833 66
Vollmer, Mary E Sept 1843 56 Married 29 years 6 children with 5 alive.
Vollmer, Bertha Sept 1870 Nevada
Vollmer, Arthur July 1873 California
Vollmer, Emma J June 1882 California
It looks like same family from 1870 in Nevada and 1900 in California. With Henry and
Bertha born in Nevada, Rose might have fit in between....maybe??
Did you find Rose M. Leberthon in the 1910 California Census in Los Angeles with her
three children, Theodore 18, Anna M. 16 and Rose C 13?? It says her father born Germany.
I do think they used Prussia then Germany for place of birth on later census for people.
This might be a clue as to her parents who might be the Vollmers in 1870 Nevada census.
Interesting that she says married but John is in the 1910 San Francisco Census married 2
for 2 years with Etta Alice 20 married 1 for 2 years with no children.
The California Death Index has the three children of Rose and John listed. With the death
locations and dates you might try the obituaries for further clues.
Good luck in your search.
Arline in Nevada
