All I can tell you is that there was a racing commission at one time. It was
independent from the Gaming Control Board. The Nevada Historic Museum and
Library in Reno probably can help you. If not, the Nevada State Archives
were required to keep their documents.

Subject: [NEVADA] COUPLE OF QUESTIONS
I have a couple of questions relating to Reno. (I have been on the
Reno
list and got nowhere so I am branching out)
I have someone who owned a racehorse in the mid 1950's, 1960's. He raced
this horse and an article appeared in the local newspaper regarding that.
Is
there any way I can look up information regarding where he might have
raced
this horse and/or any databases of people who did own horses? I think it
was a
quarter horse.
This same person worked at Harrods - have no idea what position. How
would
I go about finding this out? Date would have been in the 1950's-1960's.
This man's mother belonged to the Golden Ages Club in Reno. Any idea if
there would be any membership records still available? This would be the
1950's
because she died in 1961.
Thanks, Annie
