I'm assuming you want the obit to clear the controversy about his parent. Is the tree
right or the Death Cert. right? The death certificate is right. While death certificates
often hold many errors they are aren't that far off, especially having both parents
completely wrong. Misspelled ...yYES....wrong ...NO.
Here are Martha and Thomas in the 1900 census. Thomas's full name was either Thomas

These records confirm that the parents listed on the Death Certificate for Homer Weaver
was accurate.
Because people couldn't find them in the census records, because of his early death
and Martha remarrying along with Thomas using the name William, people assumed the info
was wrong and created what was easy for there trees.
Yes you are correct, Take Ancestry Trees with a big grain of salt, unless completely
sourced.
