Surname: Gettemy
-------------------------
Hi. I found Daniel and Hazel(spelled Hazelle)in the Social Security Death
Index. If you go to rootsweb.com, and click on the search for the Social
Security Death Index, then enter their names. At the right hand side next
to the names you will see a highlighted space that says"letter". Click
on that and you can print a letter to send to the Social Security Administration.
All you have to do is sign the letter and send a money order with it for
$7.00 to the address on the letter. They will send you a copy of the original
application for the social security card. It should have the names of both
of their parents on it. Please contact me again if you have any trouble.
You can also send to the county with the death date and get the copy of
their death certificate which could also yield the parents names and possibly
their place of origin.

Surname: Youell
-------------------------
Hi Suzie. I found one reference to Frank Youell that might narrow your
census search. It was in the gene pool records at ancestry.com:
YOUELL, Edna Rose b.9-16-1904 Ormsby County, Nevada
d.12-25-1988 Port Orchard, Washington
Married:1917 Spouse:TURNER
Father: Frank YOUELL
Mother:Zelda Mae Lottie WILEY
You might want to search there. The capitol of Nevada is Carson City which
is in Ormsby County. There are several volunteers on the Random Acts of
Genealogical Kindness at rootsweb who might be able to help you in your
search.

Larry,
I don't know if this could be your Johnnie. I found him in the California

POPEJOY, John Edward b.7-22-1918 Missouri Mother:WALTON d.11-2-1992 L.A.County(19)

I have helped with several Nevada queries and you would'nt believe the
number of times they ended up in California. Guess they could'nt take the
hot weather in the desert.

Surname: Milam
-------------------------
Hi. I think the Paradise you want is in Clark County. I did a search at
ancestry.com for Milam's in Nevada. There were 3 listed under the SSDI.
2 of them had dates of birth early enough to possibly be siblings of your
Minnie May. There was also a reference in a book called "Heartthrobs of
the West" mentioning a J.S. Milam that came to Clark County(Las Vegas area)around
1855.
Margaret
P.S.- the only other place that has a Paradise name in Nevada is in Humboldt
County.

Looking for the family name of CAHALIN with origins in Galway Ireland.
Some Las Vegas Cahalins visited Galway around 1970, never clearly established
what connection was.
If a connection could be established, have family information would be
happy to share.

Surname: Dreyer

Calling all DREYER's and Dreyer researchers'
>From a "brick-walled" grandson in a remote part of the world.
I am trying to establish the particulars of my grandfathers life after
his separation from my grandmother in 1924. We doubt that he is still alive
(he would be approximately 102 years old now) but we would sincerely like
to find the rest of our family.
It is difficult to access information from our present location and after
5 years of looking we are begining to suspect that the information on grandad
Dreyer may be "suspect" (i.e. he wasn't around very long and left under
very unusual circumstances around the time of the birth of his son).
In this context, I am appealing to all Dreyer's and Dreyer researchers
to send me whatever info you have... I'll synthesize this data and follow
any leads that appear valid... I'm now working on the premise that the
information I have is wrong!
If you or your older family members have any information (however remote)
that might be useful in our search please forward it to us. Any "Dreyer"
history is valid and we will keep all information recieved...just in case
another Dreyer happens to get the "bright" idea to start chasing their
family tree.
Sincerely,
Ronald (Ron) Dale Dreyer

NEVADA STATE CENSUS, 1875
(Update adding Douglas, Landon, Ormsby, and Washoe Counties)
This database looks at the state census for the counties of Eureka, Churchill,
Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lyon, Douglas,
Landon, Ormsby, and Washoe. For each entry, the person's name, age, sex,
occupation, status as head of household, and
place of residence are listed. Where the census noted a marriage within
the year
or parents of foreign birth, these
facts are also mentioned. The head of household in many instances is not
easily
determined. Where this is the case, a
member of the household has been listed as the "head," even though
contemporaries may not have recognized him or her as
such. This allows the researcher to see all of the residents of the household
by
searching on the name listed as head.
This database was compiled from a transcription made in 1876 from the original
enumerator's records. Any errors in the
original source have been recorded intact, and the interpretation has been
left
to the researcher. Many minorities were
not named in the original census. More than half of the just over 10,500
entries
in this database are immigrants to the
United States. Over 40 foreign countries and more than 40 other American
states
are listed as places of birth for Nevada
residents of these five counties.
