Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
In the past few weeks especially when I go to a rootsweb web page and
open a page in the web site and try to go back to the first page, I get
a message Document Done and a blank page.
For example I went to
and took the link to Page 1 of a Passenger Arrivals List. When I am
finished with page 1 I try to Back and get the Document Done message and
can't get to any other web site such as Google.
Sometimes in the past when this happened and I was closing open windows
an pop-up ad which did not show on the toolbar appeared. any thoughts
(besides upgrading to Ver 7.)
Here is a new one...Wormautomat HRB
It is so new that Norton stops it (thank goodness since 1/3 of my mail
this morning was loaded with it) but has no real info on it. I did a
google search and didn't find anything on it either. So, this is a
heads-up to be aware of a new worm/virus. Again, don't open attachments
of any kind when you don't know they are coming.

All outgoing mail virus free. Scanned by Norton 2002.
In 4.76, all deleted messages go to Trash, which is a temporary warehouse
for deleted messages. A deleted, virus-containing message will go to Trash,
where it could be opened at a later time. Such a message should be
immediately deleted from the Trash as well (unless an antivirus has handled
I don't know what happens to the message at that point. It might just
vaporize, or it might be sent to Microsoft's Recycle Bin, but I wouldn't
think that an individual email would do that. Even if it did, it is not
likely that you would recognize its name and later try to open it.

In setting message filter in Ver 4.73 I can "Delete" or "Move to:" If I
select Trash for Move To the messages go to Trash. If I say Delete the
messassages still go to Trash. (Thank goodness.)
Is there any difference between Delete and Send to Trash?
Is there any way to print out my address list, or save
it to a word processing or spreadsheet document? I
would like to have a list I could share with other
members of my club, without having to retype the
addresses and then keep two lists updated.
