Death of Mrs. Isabella Wilson - A Pioneer of This County

Mrs. Isabella WILSON, who has been a
resident of Otoe county for more than half a century, died at the home of her son, Charles
WILSON, in Lincoln, where she was spending the winter. She had been ill for some time and
it was known that she could not recover.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Scotland, near Aberdeen, December 39, 1844, coming to America in
1855, to Illinois in 1856, and to Nebraska in 1857, with the father David GARROW. The
family first went to Canada, where the mother sickened and died, and then the father
brought his children to Nebraska and have since lived here.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Henry WILSON, Sept. 14th, 1864, by Rev. Thomas MC
CARTNEY of Nebraska City. To this union, twelve children were born, eight of whom survive
- John WILSON, Lomax, Neb.; Charles and Edward WILSON, of Lincoln; Mrs. Jennie Wilson
HALL, of Brock; Mrs. Jessie Wilson GOODRICH, of Grainger, Wash.' Edith CARL and Frank
WILSON, of Dunbar. Her husband, Thomas Wilson, died at the family home December 8th, 1891,
she being a widow for over twenty-six years.
She was a charter member of the Dunbar united Presbyterian church that was organized in
1880, and remained an ardent and faithful member until her death. Beside the family, a
large circle of neighbors and friends mourn her loss.
The funeral will be from her late farm home, one mile north of Dunbar., Wednesday, Feb.
27th, at 10 o'clock a.m.
