I need a marriage record lookup for one Wm C
Fowlkes/Foulks married 26 Oct 1856 Martha
Wm is in 1854 & 1856 Territorial census with
his first wife Mary Caroline Helvey who he
married in 1853 Atchison Co MO. She died
and is buried in the Fowlkes Family Cemetery
outside of NE City.
Have went into MO for copy of 2nd marriage
as was mentioned in the History of Otoe Co
NE with excerpts by Velda Ash Boehmer
Lehrman which mentions he married both in
MO but County Clerk only found the first
Thanks for your help out there with this as
it may be helpful in putting together this family
history and putting to rest a few misnomers.
The history also talks about WM being disowned by his father W.C. but
have a copy
of the Hickman Co KY will for Kenner Fowlkes
that tells he left his son by his first marriage
one William Cralle the sum of $5.00, Kenner
was married first to a Catheryn Baldwin and
2nd Lucy Johnson. So that puts to rest that
part of the family story as well as tells me that
Wm Cralle Fowlkes did Not marry Martha A.
FOUTS in Atchison Co MO but most probably
in Otoe Co either that or in Kearney, Co
although Kearney not founded until 1860 from
unorganized territory. Wm was said to have done a short stint at Fort
Kearney after mustering out at Fort Washita down near OK/TX border in

Territorial Census pages. Also found him in
1860 under Fawlks, in the 1870 and then in
1880 Martha A (Fouts) Fowlkes was a widow.
Can anyone tell me where I might find this
album although it is probably in storage since
