THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
Saturday, July 26, 2008
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Denton Community Hall
Denton, Nebraska [Lancaster County]
Do the towns: Berks, Burnham, Centerville, Cheese Creek, Cobb Jct.,
Denton, Emerald, Hallam, Kramer, Martell, Olive Branch, Princeton,
Rokeby, Sprague, & Yankee Hill, evoke any memories of family and/or
friends?
The Denton Community Historical Society would like to invite you to
come and enjoy a wonderful display of pictures of family, places and
events from the southwest Lancaster County area. The memorabilia that
will be on display that day comes from places that still exist as well
as places that only exist in our memories.
Besides pictures, there are also memorabilia that includes an
Emerald-area friendship quilt, old books, the Rokeby Rustlers school
newspapers, plat maps, Rosekrans-Hoffman books, and much, much more.
The highlight of the day will be the presentation of a new book
researched and written by a DCHS member, Sue Williams. The book is
"Nebraska and the CCC". Ms Williams interviewed CCC members and their
families for the book's contents.
If you have old pictures, books, or memorabilia that you would like to
share, please bring those items with you. With your permission, we
will make photo copies to add to our collection. Any donations to DCHS
are also greatly appreciated.
Enjoy a free rootbeer float while you visit with friends and browse
through the memorabilia.
