This is a re-post as the A-B-C-D-E-F Marriages for Lancaster County in
NEBRASKA have been updated on the NEGenWeb site.

The Lancaster County marriages for the years 1939 thru 1946 have been
transcribed by Jennifer David, a member of the Denton Community
Historical Society, Ruth Mosby, a member of the Lincoln Lancaster
County Genealogical Society and James Michel, Jane Michel and Teresa
Sullivan, members of both organizations.
Some information was taken from the society pages of the Lincoln
newspapers and because the brides had several attendants, female
witness could not be determined from the newspaper write up.
Copies of the Lancaster County marriages are on microfilm at the
Nebraska State Historical Society but for some unknown reason, copies
of some marriages are not available at the institution. Certified
copies can be obtained from the Nebraska Dept. of Vital Records for a
fee.
There are however, listed in big books, the names of brides, grooms
and year of marriage at the Lancaster County Court House. The
1939-1946 pages have been photographed and an index set up from these
records.
As noted only the bride, groom and year of marriage are on the Court
House index. The goal of this project it to have internet users
supply pertinent information that is missing, i.e. witnesses, parents,
date of marriage and place of marriage. Some information has been
added taken from church registers, newspaper society pages and
obituaries. Please report any information you believe to be
incorrect.
The Court House records were sometimes hard to decipher. If you see a
record that you have information on, please e-mail that information to
