Since you're on this bylaws committee, I'll just go ahead and offer my
two cents worth here on our state discuss list.
I think this proposed Section 1 revision is unnecessary and I don't
understand why it's even been proposed. Requiring that sites display the
logo on their front page is fine, and I think we already require that.
But this business of specifying exactly where the logo must be
displayed, and precisely how large it must be, is, well, just getting
way too picky, imho.
Ya gotta remember, this project is made up of generous volunteers who
put up pages as an extension of their genealogy hobby in an effort to
help other researchers.
Start getting too serious and too picky over details such as this and
all you do is turn people off.
I don't think we need to go setting up something as bothersome as having
"webpage police" going 'round measuring the size and gauging the exact
placement of everybody's USGW logo. Layout has pretty much always been
left up to the wishes of the individual volunteer, and for my part, I
see no reason to change that.
