Greetings!
I'm probably going to remind you of this until you're tired of hearing
it <g>. But the run-off elections have begun! Make sure your voice is
heard -- VOTE! The position of SEMA CC rep -- one of the CC
representatives for our region -- is involved in the run-off, so this
election definitely will directly effect you.
You should have received your password and the link to the election
site. The voting will continue through August 26th, so if you're unsure
how you wish to vote, you have some time to learn about the candidates
and make your decision.
I'm going to do something that I meant to do in July, and forgot <g>.
(In my own defense, it didn't really come up.) In most elections,
people end up endorsing one candidate or the other. While an
endorsement is not an impartial listing of facts (after all, it's
someone giving you their opinion), I feel that they can sometimes be
useful, especially in an organization like ours where you may have had
little opportunity to interact with some of the candidates. With that
in mind, I will forward such endorsements to this list. I will also
forward them to the discussion list, so that if anyone wishes to make
comments or ask questions, you'll be able to do that there.

I've voted! What about you?
