Derick,
I am cc'ing this message to both of our state lists so that each CC
is aware that you may have copied his/her site and uploaded it
elsewhere, particularly if they are among those who have elected to
keep their site(s) on Rootsweb.
Sandy,
I believe you mis-read me. I only uploaded my own sites.
I would certainly NEVER upload anyone elses site.
I asked you previously and you did not respond, so I am asking you
again --
exactly which county sites have you copied and uploaded elsewhere,
and exactly where have you uploaded them?
I have uploaded and made serious changes to my own sites: Cleveland,
Gaston and Lincoln.
Burke and Catawba are next in line. I will not be deleting my RW
sites until everything is up and working.
This involves removing all credit logos, updating dead links, adding
stuff I wouldn't want harvested and fixing the "last updated" scripts.
With 10,644 GenWeb pages, I am busy.
Have you done this to every site remaining on Rootsweb?
Did you first obtain the permission of each of CC before copying his/
her site and uploading it elsewhere?
Read above. I've got enough work with my sites without worrying about
somebody elses.
The decision of where to place a county web site is *solely* that of
the county coordinator. Those who choose to stay on Rootsweb have
every right to do so, just as did those who chose never to place a
site on Rootsweb. Disagreement with someone else's decision does not
give you the right to copy that person's website or any of its
contents - and upload it to the server of _your_ choice.
Again, read above.
Exactly which sites did you copy, and what are the URLs where you
have uploaded them?
