Warren,
I don't use OmniPage but I'm sure they have a setting for columns and for
no-columns. I believe they also have the option of vreating a template, in
the event you are scanning the same format, over and over.
Check help under COLUMNS, etc. 300 dpi is more than adequate--you will
never get 100% recognition with any software.
I use Word and save scanned material to a Word.doc. Write back and let me
know how things are working.

I haven't had the best of luck trying this. Seems when I get into MS
Word to edit the files, I have a lot of things going on that I just
don't understand. Also seems like text pages are generally OK but seems
that columns or tables are a mess.
I guess it's scanning at 300 dpi. I assume I could try at 1200?. Is
bitmap or grayscale better? Would saving it to a text file be better
that saving it to Word format, then bring the file into Word?
It's tooooo much work to ever type these many pages.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Welcome to all the new CC's.
