Has anyone ever heard of Lotus, NC? I can't find it in

or in any of the on-line place-name searches. It's mentioned in a 1960
obituary as the place of residence of one of the survivors.

Hi,
I just wonder if the transcriber copied Lotus instead of that Stanly County
town, Locust. There are seven Locust Gaps, five Locust Knobs, three Locust
Hills, two Locust Groves and an assortment of Mountains, Creeks, and
another half-page of locust varieties. And not a single variety of Lotus.
My vote is for LOCUST. I think that'swhat the transcriber had in mind.
