quick question on burial practices
Paul--
We had this discussion last week re Jacob Wetzel and a RW marker to be
placed at his and his wife's gravesite; and Cathy Griffith posted this
data as follows on our TransylvanCoGenList(a)yahoogroups.com --
In a message dated 3/15/2006 2:38:55 P.M. Eastern Standard Time,

When you are standing at the foot of the grave facing the stone the wife
is on the right.
I have been told by cemetery workers that a husband and wife are always
buried the same way they stood in front of the Preacher to get married,
the husband is on the wife's right, and so far every grave I've seen has
been this way.

In some cemeteries, I've seen the opposite re several Propst and Killian
tombstones in Catawba Co.
