Hi Folks!
As you have probably noticed, I am running for SE/MA County
Coordinator Representative on the board. Although I've been
involved in USGenWeb since 1997, this is my first endeavor
into such a thing as this. In fact, it dawned on me that this
is the first time I've run for anything since my freshman year
of high school. At that time, I ran for class treasurer. I
made a ton of posters and brought them into school, just to
have a friend tell me I spelled treasurer wrong. Hey! I was
good at math not spelling! <g> Needless to say, that bid for
office wasn't successful. I'm hoping for better this time!
On a serious note, NCGenWeb is the reason that I was motivated
to run for this office. Having been involved in very laid
back state projects prior to NCGenWeb, I really never gave the
board or "politics" much thought. I mean, to me, a bunch of
good folks getting together to freely share genealogy
information online shouldn't really need any kind of "board",
should it? As much as that should be the "ideal" situation,
the reality is that there are times when that can't be the
case. Unfortunately, NCGenWeb knows that all too well.
Please consider me for SE/MA County Coordinator Representative
on the USGenWeb board when elections begin July 1. For more
information about me, please see my web page:
http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~woodside/ . If you have any
questions, I'd be happy to entertain them.
Thanks for listening!
Denise
