key words.
I don't recall it saying anywhere that every move made by everyone involved
in the project -- whether SC or CC -- is required to be put up for majority
vote, either.
I'm sure, or at least I hope, you understand the reason for
USGenWeb bylaws
being so specific, is so the AB or other 'leaders' can't push bylaws, rules,
guidelines, or whatever else they are called, down the throats of the CC's
without the CC's voting upon them.
Perhaps you misunderstood the nature and purpose of Derick's organizational
plan. It isn't bylaws, and isn't intended to take the place of bylaws, but
is to provide some sort of structure until by-laws can be written and voted
upon. In fact, Derick went back and clarified the temporary nature.
How would you like it if all the sudden the SC said it was a
requirement of
North Carolina CC's to have the state logo on our home pages, without the CC's
voting on it? Whoops! Bad example...it *is* a requirement, but you haven't
done it :)
Mea culpa. When I remodeled the page, I included the required link, but
forgot to add the logo itself. Not that that's relevant to the
discussion. This may come as a shock to you, but I don't find it
horrifying to think that there may be actions that the SC can -- and
possibly even should -- take without running asking for permission. In
fact, I think the constant "Mother, may I?" approach to coordinating a
project of this size is asinine and inefficient. Like it or not,
*someone* has to have the responsibility to make decisions, and Derick was
elected by majority vote as the SC, which puts that ball in his court.
