No, do you know if it was for Civil War soldiers? From the years, it sounds
like it.

Subject: [NC-DISCUSS] help re Wake Co location
Does anyone happen to know the location of the Old Soldiers' Home in
Wake Co ?
I think it was in the Raleigh area.
I'm not sure when it began operations - 1890s, maybe?
Probably the predecessor to the VA hospital or some such, not sure.
I need some idea of its location ca 1900/1910/1920. I'm very familiar
with Raleigh and Wake - so if someone happens to know and could describe
the area where it was located, I'd be grateful. I'm trying to check the
census enumerations, but without a general idea of its location, that's
an agonizing effort.
Thanks,
Sandy
