LOL...not really Sandy..
My list is not large, and I have the time..which is not an option to many
C.c.s these days. I suspect a group email to all of your AOL membership
would work, since AOL is only bouncing Rootsweb mailings.
As far as what the actual AOL users can do.. I would suspect AOL listens to
them. From all indications, (IMO), AOL is hemorrhaging members right and
left.
This "problem" has been going on with AOL since they upgraded their software
after version 5.0, and eliminated 'plain text' emails. This made it
impossible for AOL users to post at our lists..which only accept and pass
plain text format email. After version 5, there was still a way for AOL
members to generate plain text emails, but it was a hidden function, not
generally known by AOL users, and certainly not known or understood by the
newer AOL users.

A year or so ago when my members complained to AOL about not being able to
send plain text email to our lists..AOLs curt reply was to the AOL users,
they should contact the list server administrator and demand we change to a
software that will accept rich text format emailing's..
This "conflict" is not a recent occurrence between us and AOL. It is an
ongoing situation as you can see, and will not be resolved easily...if ever.

Sandy, when this happened to my list a couple of months ago, I

Good lord.
Rob, you are a better listowner than I.....
;-)
However, maybe I can come up with a "group" letter and just send it in a
batch to all the AOL listmembers....still a pain.
Thing is, I don't know what the heck an AOL member could do anyway......
or how visiting the "password central" (as posted in the Help desk
message) would help.
AOL is bouncing RW listmail at the server level. Not much an AOL member
can do (that I know of) to retrieve mail being bounced at the server
level.
Seems to me RW is going to have to convince AOL not to bounce the
listmail.
