That is all well and good Elizabeth, in theory it sounded good to make the L list
read only. But when you are stiffled with threats of removal as a cc in the
state because you speak out by sending emails to other cc's then what alternative
does a cc have to reach everyone? You say that you can reach them by contacting
Sharon and ask her to post it on NCGenWeb. That won't work....she won't post it.
I was told by Sharon that it takes one small paragraph to make a motion. When
someone makes a proper motion, she will send it out on the mandatory list. She
will not send out long long e-mails that are full of arguments for or against the
motions. But yet she can come on the L-list and state her personal opinions of a
motion? We can't....this means that these cc's have a right to know privately my
or anybody elses viewpoints. If I did that same thing and it is called spamming,
yet she is using our mandatory board to spam her ideas.....THIS IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE!
She wouldn't post Sandy's repeated requests to rectify her own boo-boo. Why? It
wouldn't have hurt her one bit to have reposted Sandy's stuff. She wouldn't
respond to Horace's suggestion to have a domain name. Seems that the L list has
become so controlled that the cc's are even less informed of things that are
going on that concern them.
You tell me what are the cc's alternatives, please, I would like to know!

This would defeat the purpose of making NCGENWEB read-only and making the
-DISCUSS list the optional list to which CCs may subscribe or not, as they
choose.
If you have something that MUST reach all the CCs, then the appropriate
action is to contact Sharon and ask her to post it on NCGENWEB. Sharon
will then either post it, or will alert the entire readership that the
topic will be considered on NCGENWEB-DISCUSS.
Think about it. If NCGENWEB-DISCUSS were to be made mandatory, then there
would be no need for NCGENWEB-L. We would then be exactly back where we
started; complaints about irrelevant, heated, or otherwise unwanted posts
on the required list, a request to create yet another optional list
(NCGENWEB-DISCUSSAGAIN?), another round of complaints that not everyone's
voice is being heard which would then result in this list being made
mandatory, obviating the need for NCGENWEB-DISCUSS, and creating the need
for NCGENWEB-DISCUSS-STILLMORE, ad nauseum, ending finally in
NCGENWEB-DISCUSS-TERMINAL, at which point there would be no more CCs left,
all of us having left long since in frustration.
