HI Cc's,
We do still have a serious problem in communication. Separating the two
lists like it was done only created another problem. And that being "How
do I as a CC contact all the other CC's?"
I can't post to the Admin list, that is just for posting by the SC and all
CCs are not subscribed to the Discuss list. I would have to do what Terria
tried, by another side list.
This is a very valid point. The effort to get the first item to everyone
after the elections has already lead to dissension among the troops because
of the structure and lack of bylaws. If for example, "In order be become a
CC", that person must agree to an unconditional subscription to the Discuss
list, then this problem would be eliminated. The bylaws should state such
requirements and if a person does not agree then s/he can't become a
CC. But once this is done then there is an avenue for a CC to contact all
others.
So in order to correct the situation where Terria got into trouble, I
motion that subscription to the Discuss must be mandatory. In all
fairness, it must be done or else we will always have to go by private mail.

Hi CCs,
Diane K has seconded the motion made Friday, July 28, 2000. That motion
was a request that we vote on whether we should have our own Domain name
in NCGenWeb. The motion was made in reference to an offer Horace Peele
made to give us use of the name for 10 years. See earlier messages for
full details.
Discussion on this subject is now open on the NCGenWeb-Discuss-l . If
you are not on that list and wish to be there, you can subscribe yourself
by writing to NCGenWeb-Discuss-l-request.
Right now, we are discussing whether this is something we, as a group, want
to pursue. If, or when we once decide that is what we want to do, then we
will go into the particulars of how to go about doing it.
All I ask is that you please keep the discussions civil and polite. I
will be gone all of Saturday and will be back online early Sunday morning.
Thanks,
Sharon Williamson
