Could someone please explain to me why all of this is necessary?

I believe the following issues need to be discussed and decided by
the full membership.
1. Our NCGW Project state web site. I believe our state pages belong
to the full membership of the project, and that while a state
coordinator becomes responsible during the duration of his/her term
for the maintenance or management of the state project site, the
authority to make any substantive change to the site's content or
location (i.e., domain, server) remains vested in the full
membership, thus requires both discussion by and a vote of the full
project membership.
2. Appropriate content for all NCGW project websites/pages, state and
county.
I think we need to adopt a statement to be included within our
volunteer rules/guidelines which limits content of all county sites
to matters of genealogical/ historical research assistance pertaining
to that county, and precludes items or links to items of a personal,
political, religious, etc. nature.
3. Discussion of a project-wide search engine on our main state page,
including the pros & cons of search engines, what type of search
engine would be used, and provisions enabling any county to opt-out,
if so desired.
This list isn't meant to be exhaustive, or to suggest there are no
other issues we need to discuss. These are just the issues which I,
personally, believe need immediate attention. Everyone is more than
welcome to add other issues.
