Hi Diana,
You make some good points.
However, we haven't had much of a chance to think.
I like to think things through, make clear-headed decisions.
It's hard to do that, when you read email after email stating how bad we are
as a group because we didn't do this, or we didn't do that. Frankly I'm
sick to death of hearing about what terrible people we are and how we don't
care about the project. I can't think of anything else when I keep reading
emails like this, it puts me on the defensive and makes for a non-cohesive
group.
What I would like to see, is emails that are thought through CAREFULLY, read
and re-read so that verbage that is unneccessary , thoughtless, and ridden
with accusations be removed from it. Until this is done, I don't think any
of us will be willing to try to "do" anything except survive as we are.
I am usually a pretty open-minded person, and since the time that I joined
this project, I've changed my ideas about some of the things that concern
this project. So to be constantly ridiculed for being close-minded, is more
than a little tiring.
I guess what I'm trying to say in a nutshell is, my vision for this project
is for ALL of the NCGenWeb project members to treat the other members with
respect, so that we CAN begin to work together for a better project, which I
believe is already one of the best on the web, thanks to the hard work and
dedication of many, including those who came before me.
Sincerely,
Anne

To those who sit on the sides and throw stones at every idea that comes
along,
I ask you again to please tell us your positive ideas:
Perhaps it would help if you would state what your priorities and opinions
are. What is your vision of what the USGenWeb Project is? What direction
should it be going in, what should be our goals? What would you like to
see us work for and what do we need to accomplish in order to get us
there?
And I don't mean just 'put genealogy online' because we
all are here to do
that.
