Subject: [USGENWEB-ALL-L] Excuse me?
On behalf of the many ALHN volunteers who have absolutely no interest
in
the USGenWeb project and have never spoken a word, to my knowledge, either
pro or con that project, I take the most extreme umbrage at Ms.
Yancey-Dore's denigration of them and their participation in the ALHN
project. They are not "bashers"; rather, they are dedicated historians and
genealogists, devoting tremendous time and resources to the development of
an outstanding and highly regarded Internet research site.
Likewise, I take offense at Ms. Yancey-Dore's chastising USIGS board
members and continuously attempting to construct some bizarre negative
correlation between their participation in both USIGS and USGenWeb.
If one can be pitched off Rootsweb for making perceived derogatory
comments, then this certainly qualifies. Let's not be list "bigots," now,
Mr. Leverich. What Ms. Yancey-Dore has said about the USIGS and ALHN
projects is clearly more demeaning to those entities as anything that she
and others (too numerous to mention) have ostensibly said about USGenWeb
and Rootsweb in the past.
For that reason, Mr. Leverich, I respectfully request that equal action be
taken against Ms. Yancey-Dore. To not take it is to show extreme
predeliction toward certain individuals over all genealogists, especially
those involved in the "competing" projects you have spoken so highly of in
your previous posts to this list.
