That fact is disturbing. How are the CC's going to know about the
election
and the issues?
The election, nominations and seconds have all been announced on the
mandatory read-only list, NCGENWEB-L. Every CC should know about
them already.
Will candidates use a campaign web page and email each
individual CC to tell them about it?
I feel sure that if the candidates post web pages with their platform
statements and let the SC or ASC know, the URLs will be posted on the
NCGENWEB-L list also.
The -DISCUSS list is open to all CCs, and if they want to subscribe
in order to participate in discussion about the candidates, they are
free to do so. If they would rather not subscribe, that's their
privilege.
Please go back and read the archived messages on NCGENWEB-L to learn
why we voted to have two separate lists. To repeat all that
discussion now for your benefit would probably just result in more
CCs unsubbing from the optional list. The most informative time
frames to read are fall 1998, for creation of the second list, and
spring to early summer 2000 for the decision to make the mandatory
list read-only.
You can also read about the legal issues in the same archives, and on
NCGENWEB-DISCUSS archives. "Domain" is a good keyword to search for,
in late summer/early fall 2000. "Tax" as a keyword brings up very
little of relevance.
