Today is July 6th, so 6 days into the USGenWeb Elections. I am guessing that many of you
have not voted yet - I haven't!
However, as a CC for NCGenWeb, who is running for SEMA County Coordinator Representative,
I would like for you to consider voting for me. My campaign page which has all the
details is located at:
http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~woodside.
I've admitted in other emails that the last time I ran for any kind of office was my
freshman year of high school. I made a ton of posters for Class Treasurer - just to bring
them to school the next day and find out I spelled "treasurer" wrong. I was the
smart girl known for her math skills - not her spelling skills!! I opted NOT to put up
the posters, and lost my marketing edge -- and the election.
I hope you can see from my webpage and from here that I am a person that likes to enjoy
life. I know we've seen some of the darker side of "volunteerism" here on
NCGenWeb, and as much as I hate that kind of stuff, it was that very activity that
inspired me to run for office. Don't get me wrong, I'm not convinced that winning
this office would change the negativity that creeps into this project - it will just make
me feel better about having someone (me) in there that I know will be fair and positive
and expect high standards.
I think I just noticed that I'm in kind of a mellow reflective mood today. Maybe I
should go write some poetry - I've not done that since my freshman year either . . . .
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'd love to hear what you
all think.
