Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Nola,
If the truth be told, I do what I like to do, not what I should do -- so I
always find time for graphics. Besides, it pleases me to help folk in need
of some graphic help. So ask away Nola. You certainly wouldn't be the
first NC CC to do so.
Please include finished size desired (width by height in pixels), text of
course, color preferences, style (Colonial, Civil War, Victorian, Hearts &
Flowers, Retro, etc.).

Yes, Fred is very talented indeed, and I am so proud to have him joining me
on the Perquimans site. but with all that talent, don't be surprised to see
our site with blinking light. LOL just kidding Fred. I envy you all that
talent, but also your wisdom.

Denise,
The nice thing about getting Ron Dailey is that he has close ties and real
clout in Beaufort. Even though he now lives in Florida, he apparently still
keeps a boat at the yacht club in Beaufort. They might think twice before
trying to look bad in front of a home town guy. I honestly think John will
be more than happy for Ron to have it. He just refused to put anything on a
page that Diane could grab. He was reluctant to take it when we were talking
about it earlier but only because of his health problems and the fact he
still works constantly on Hyde Co. Hopefully it will work out for both of
them to work on it together.

Hummm Nola, I thought Carolina Blue was best described as a baby blue

I think you are right, Diane.
Fred, do you want me to add them to the ncgenweb page or just a link
to your page.
Since the ncgenweb guidelines simply say "state map with dogwood" for
our logo, all of these qualify!
Let me know what you prefer Fred . . Oh, and since I didn't say it
yet, they are beautiful! I wish I had that skill! I did just do a
new banner for the Sampson page, www.rootsweb.com/~ncsampso/, but that
is about the limit to my expertise!

Denise,
Since I have gifted the graphics to NCGenWeb, it would be most appropriate
to have your webmaster copy them to the state website.

Hi everyone,
Do any of you happen to know Gwyneth Duncan? The message below is
from someone who wrote to me from the Orange County site, but I don't
know if that's where she used to do research.
If you know her current e-mail or snail mail address, please let me
know and I'll send it on to him.
Thank you!
Nancy
Hi. I’m taking a long shot here. A long time ago, circa 1993, Gwyneth
did some genealogy research for me. She was absolutely fantastic and I
would like to have her do some additional work. However, she has
dropped off the map. I hope nothing happened to her but wanted to take
a long shot and see if you knew her whereabouts since I know she was
once an active member of your organization. Thanks.

I think the one I use is pretty much the same as Elizabeth's:
Honestly can't remember where it came from, but I used graphic converter
or some other program to "paint" Vance County and add a shadow.

I'm reading three days of accumulated e-mail this afternoon, and just
realized my goof in sending you back the link to the NEW logos page
that you put up, before I reached the end of the IN box. We did have
such a page, however, at least back in 1998-2000 when I was SC.
For the state maps with the highlighted counties, there was at one
time a collection of such maps for all the NC counties on line. I'll
try to find it for you, but it was years ago, may not exist any more.
Anyway, I started with these, which were in red and grey, then opened
the gifs in a graphics program and changed the color scheme to get
the maps that I use on my pages, e.g.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncforsyt/http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncforsyt/forsythl.gif for just the image
You should be able to download this image, enlarge in Photoshop or
whatever software you have, change the pixels in Forsyth Co. to white
and color those in your own county.

I just sent you a NC Counties map that is in color. If anyone else wants one
email me at garebel(a)bellsouth.net and I will send you the map. It has each
of the counties in a different color so that it is easy to see and find the
different counties.
