When I removed Allison's logo from my website, I found that I had credited Allison
with creating the logo at the bottom of the page (my memory needs a boost every now and
then) when I adopted the county in 2009. So I am bewildered by her request but I honored
it by removing her logo.
We really have no choice but to use MTGenWeb as it is spelled out in the By-Laws how the
state projects are to be named.
The opening heading on the Custer County website (
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.
com/~mtcuster/ )
is Karen's MT logo, then "Welcome to Custer County Montana", then the
USGenWeb logo. Visitors to the website know immediately they are viewing information
about Custer County, Montana and that the website is part of the MTGenWeb and the USGenWeb
Projects. The page has a gray background so the color of the stamp logo isn't perfect
but it does identify the site as part of the MTGenWeb. Thank you, Karen, for allowing us
to use your designs.
Maybe we can find maps with the counties highlighted in the public domain somewhere
online. I will see what I can find.
