You know it is hard enough to get enough CC's to maintain all our counties let alone
find assistants. I have to agree with most people, one CC ....one vote. Why make it
complicated? Surely if they have an assistant they can agree and vote as one. Thanks
Nathan for giving us a chance to think about this.

It would seem the most efficient and efficacious way to handle it is
give one vote to the county, via the county coordinator. Leave it to
the Coordinator and any assistants as to how they cast that vote.
Otherwise, by all means, give all counties the same quantity of votes
to be cast regardless of how many assistants they may have or not have.
What is to be gained by having votes for assistants, unless to
accommodate dissension or disagreement at the county level? It hints
of too many husbands and wives who in these modern times can vote
separately, and thus don't work toward agreement at home and cancel
each others' vote. Disagreements are best resolved at the lowest
possible level.

Sharing the job, & relieved to have only one vote to deal with, so
long as it counts equal with the next county, even though we have the
largest county! :-)

I still have a concern about this, since out here in the almost-

there are lots of counties with NO assistants. Wibaux County isn't
going to
need an assistant any time soon. If you give each county a vote for
the CC
and a vote for even multiple AC's, then my county's vote is only
worth half
of the others since it's still just me voting.
Difficult to manage or not, I'm afraid I have to hold out for each
county
having an equal number of votes, no matter how it has to be sorted
out.
If the other counties get a vote for the CC and a vote for all the
AC's
combined, then my county, with no AC, has to get TWO votes.

2 - Assistant County Coordinators - Seems to be some concern with
this.
We've struggled with this over in the PAGenWeb, currently the PAGenWeb
polcies allow as many Assistant County Coordinators as a county may
want,
but the county only has 1 vote so each assistant only gets a
percentage of a
vote. This makes it really difficult to hold the election and keep
track of
fractions of votes. We have several counties that have an
Assistant CC. I
wouldn't want to seem them left out of the process, that is why the
draft
limits it to just 1 assistant for voting purposes. Certainly a
county can
have as many assistants as they need but for management purposes 1
would be
the official "assistant". I'd like more feedback on this issue.
