Jo Ann Boyd Scott, Big Horn County here, I accidently
hit the enter button, sorry about that. Can you really
imagine that someone would do that? There isn't a
monentary gain, could make it hard for people I guess.
If that happened to me I would say fine, take the
"power" what ever that is ...I will do something else.
I won't be a part of a group that is sniping. Life is
too short and I bet most of you wouldn't either. Jo
Ann
P.S. part of the Rosebud county is burning as we speak
with grass fires. Air full of smoke.

Always something to complicate things, isn't there?

Karen brings up a good point-- what if some
busy-body got power
hungry and adopted a bunch of sparse counties and
did a deadbeat job
just to stack an election? Why anyone would get
power-hungry over
such work I don't know, but . . .
On the other hand, I suppose the devious could
employ subservient (or
even make-believe) assistants who officially host
other counties and
achieve similar ends despite a one-person-one-vote
rule, so there is
no absolute solution.
Do any of you with long-term experience know if this
is a likely
concern? Or is such covered in some other manner?
You know the
saying: Deal with the rule first, and consider the
exception when it
arises-- as an exception, lest the rules get too
complex and in the
way. It seems for the most part the nature of this
work does not
attract the devious and power hungry. But then we
are all mortal,
too (or at least I had supposed we are?), with
strong ideas and
drive, else we would leave it to someone else to
do...
But over all-- the simplest possible which serves
would seem best.
