I agree with a permanent LOGO to represent Montana as a whole. I was
actually thinking myself that I would like to have a county logo
too--something that would represent each of my counties specifically (I
have three). However, is there something specific enough for each
county in Montana that we all could have a county logo as well? I'm
sure each of us would have an idea what that might be for our own
counties. Then there is the question, who creates the logos for those
of us who are not so creative?

I concur that the main function of a LOGO is permanent recognition. As
such, it needs to be static. I like the idea of rotating or changing
images that represent an area; but there so many views to consider.
Personally I prefer a simple site.
I think I am going to have to agree with Cleve. For the official
Montana Logo should be static and if we could put that plus a special
county one on the county page then it would allow each county to be the
same but still different. Montana has so many different things in so
many different areas. After all we are now the 3rd last state. We lived
in Lewistown, Central Montana - Havre, Northern Montana - Helena - I
guess you would that Western Montana and then Billings - Southern
Montana - of course we even lived in Jordan for a few months. I know
each area is special.
Seems that as we have time, perhaps a few pics can be selected. I
restructure all new pics to allow quick loading. My earlier ones didn't.
Perhaps we need a "standard" format of photo presentation to use for
each county. This might assist to unite Montana GenWeb as one
recognizable group to our visitors?

I would like to see some suggestions also. I am not really sure that it
would be necessary for people to recognize that it is MtGenWeb as I know
when I am looking at things on the Internet I personally do not look for
a logo, but I think (when don't I say what I think) that by all having
the same MtGenWeb logo if people were looking for Montana then they
would realize it is Montana.
I don't know whether I phrased that right or not.
